AIA American Institute of Architects (AIA)

Monta Consulting & Design is an Associate Member of the (AIA), which is a professional organization founded in 1857 for architects in the United States. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the AIA offers education, government advocacy, community redevelopment, and public outreach to support the architecture profession and improve its public image. The AIA also works with other members of the design and construction team to help coordinate the building industry. 
 

AIBD American Institute of Building Design (AIBD)

Since 1950, AIBD has provided building designers with educational resources, and has developed nationwide design standards and a code of ethics for the building design profession. Today, AIBD is a nationally recognized association with professional and associate members in 48 states, throughout Canada and in Europe, Asia, Australia and the Bahamas.

National Council of Building Design Certification (NCBDC)
The National Council of Building Designer Certification (NCBDC), an offshoot of the American Institute of Building Design (AIBD), administers requirements and testing leading to the title of Certified Professional Building Designer (CPBD). In most cases, building designers are trained as architectural technologists; they may also be architecture school graduates that have not completed licensing requirements.

Certified Professional Building Designer (CPBD)
In response to the ever-changing needs of the design profession and to ensure greater credibility to the public, the AIBD Board of Directors established the National Council of Building Designer Certification (NCBDC), and has charged its leadership with overseeing the Designer Certification Program. For those who have chosen the profession of building design, there is no greater evidence of competency than achieving the status of Certified Professional Building Designer (CPBD).
 
 
AITC AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF TIMBER CONSTRUCTION

The American Institute of Timber Construction (AITC), founded on 1952, is the national technical trade association of the structural glued laminated (glulam) timber industry. AITC represents a majority of the glued laminated timber manufacturers in the U.S. in addition to a number of installers, suppliers, sales representatives, engineers, architects, designers, and researchers.

ASCE AMERICAN SOCIETY OF CIVIL ENGINEERS

(ASCE) is a professional body founded in 1852 to represent members of the civil engineering profession worldwide. It is the oldest national engineering society in the United States. ASCE’s vision is to have engineers positioned as global leaders who strive toward building a better quality of life. Its world headquarters is in Reston, Virginia.

CFCMA CENTRAL FLORIDA COMPONENT MANUFACTURER’S ASSOCIATION

The Central Florida Component Manufacturer’s Association is a local chapter of the SBCA for Central Florida.

COLD-FORMED STEEL COUNCIL

S SBCA’s Cold-Formed Steel Council (CFSC) focuses on issues that affect manufacturers of steel structural building components. The goal of CFSC (and SBCA) is to protect and educate component manufacturers through risk management and training material. Working together with all the component manufacturers that make up SBCA allows the industry to have a united front on key issues that face each company in building a successful component manufacturing industry.

CFSEI COLD-FORMED STEEL ENGINEERING INSTITUTE

The CFSEI is made up of hundreds of structural engineers and other design professionals who are finding a better way to produce safe and efficient designs for commercial and residential structures with cold-formed steel.

NCEES NATIONAL COUNCIL OF EXAMINERS FOR ENGINEERING & SURVEYING

The National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing professional licensure for engineers and surveyors. It develops, administers, and scores the examinations used for engineering and surveying licensure in the United States. It also facilitates professional mobility and promotes uniformity of the U.S. licensure processes through services for its member licensing boards and licensees. These services include the records program, study materials, credentials evaluations, exam administration, and more.

The Council’s members are the engineering and surveying licensure boards from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands

PTI POST-TENSIONING INSTITUTE

Established in 1976, the Post-Tensioning Institute is recognized as the world-wide authority on post-tensioning. PTI is dedicated to expanding post-tensioning applications through marketing, education, research, teamwork, and code development while advancing the quality, safety, efficiency, profitability, and use of post-tensioning systems. Members of the Institute include major post-tensioning materials fabricators in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, and manufacturers of pre-stressing materials in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Japan and Europe, and companies supplying materials, services and equipment used in post-tensioned construction. In addition, PTI has more than 500 professional engineers, architects, and contractors.

SBCA STRUCTURAL BUILDING COMPONENTS ASSOCIATION

Established in 1983, SBCA has become the only international trade association representing manufacturers of structural building components. SBCA provides the services members needs to continue expanding the market share of all structural building components by promoting the common interests of those engaged in manufacturing trusses, wall panels and related structural components to ensure growth, continuity and increased professionalism, which will strengthen the structural building component manufacturing industry’s influence.

TPI TRUSS PLATE INSTITUTE

(TPI) establishes methods of design and construction for trusses in accordance with the American National Standards Institute’s accredited consensus procedures for coordination and development of American National Standards in addition to providing a Quality Assurance Inspection Program and by contributing its expertise in other technical areas.
